Walking Histories (2019-)

Images and historical reflections from long walks. Most of these articles include access information and route guidance, but also critically explore the areas' histories and how those shape what they are today. All can be reached by public transport and completed without specialist equipment.

England

An 11km coastal route along chalk cliffs and beaches, in a corner of England closer to Calais and Dunkirk than to London and ever caught in the contradictions of English and European.

A complete 242km circuit in 24 sections around the outskirts of London. A kaleidoscope of landscapes and memories that orbit England's metropolitan singularity.
